Their best song yet, in my opinion. It really paints a mature, honest picture of grieving.
Tilian: Bravado, shutting out the pain, pressing on.
Jon: Turning inwards, self-care through processing the grief.
Will: reminiscing, but also focused on getting through things together.
Andrew: acceptance, preserving treasured memories.

EDIT: WOW did not expect this much of a response. Absolutely incredible how many of us share similar experiences around the same ages of our lives and how much this band has impacted not only our own but the ones around us as well. To those of you who lost someone as well, my deepest condolences, and a big thank you to everyone with kind words to say about Mason. This community has been and continues to be one of my absolute favorites. One more thing I wanted to add, after posting this comment, a Snapchat memory from 7 years ago popped up on my phone of Mason and I playing Halo together. Absolute Godshot, but I believe he heard you all and myself listening to this song so loud down here, that he heard it up there. Thank you everyone <3
My best friend in the entire world showed me Dance Gavin Dance when I was in middle school. Mason came up to me with his iPod and told me, "Put on 'Rock Solid' by Dance Gavin Dance." So I did. And I instantly fell in love. It was like nothing I had ever heard in my entire life, and I've been obsessed ever since then. This band has gone through many different eras, styles, singers, iterations, etc...just like all of us in life do. We grow, we change, we evolve over time. My best friend passed away about a year ago, and I can FEEL the loss of a beloved friend through this song. So to DGD, to Tim, to Mason, I give my greatest and upmost thanks. I hope my best friend is able to meet his favorite bass player of all time, Tim, up there.

DGD was arguably my little brother's favorite band. he passed unexpectedly on 4/21 at 26 & my entire world hasn't been the same since. i've never been as big of a fan of the band as he was but whenever there was a new release or album drop, he'd send me a link or something of which song(s) were his favorites or ones he knew i'd vibe with the most. i only knew about this because my bf told me & i started following the band's socials because i wanted to keep up with them and any new releases, tour announcements, etc., because i'll never get those messages again.
i know he would've loved this, probably would've listened to it a hundred times already and started learning how to play it by now. i started crying at the outro because the lyrics ring so fucking true to me right now. i know the band is missing Tim and i miss my brother so, so much. we never got to see the world together but i'll take him everywhere with me if i get the pleasure of doing so.
long live Mikey.

"The pain never stops
And the world is unforgiving
But I still wish you were here
To watch it burn with me
I'll never forget our days in Tokyo, Japan
Those were the best times I ever had
And I carry on for however long
Walk the path that you told me
To feel your embrace
I know I'll see you again
You were part of me always"

Written on Facebook: "We hope you enjoy this brand new track that we are releasing NOW because we wanted to perform it live for you on the Jackpot Juicer tour. The Ghost of Billy Royalton “I made this video as a tribute to Tim just as the song is. I made sure to incorporate Jurassic park and Star Wars which were 2 of his favorite things. This is the kind of thing I would make and just share with him and my friends. But because he’s not here, I’m sharing it with you all. “ -Will "
