Former Wal-Mart employee, one of my favorite training videos is a recent one about workplace shootings to teach employees how to defend themselves within an office space, and it features employees blocking a pull door, and then the shooter pushing on the pull door. I think I received multiple looks when I burst out laughing. Wish it was publicly online.

Well, this is why Walmart failed in Germany. We want everything to just be on a professional basis, no 'cultlike behaviors' (as it was called in newspapers), cashiers are rather quick than friendly and we sure are gonna unionize if you want to or not.
Especially greeders were hated and 'morning motivation' was seen as very weird.

I remember in high school one of my friends getting written up at Walmart for calling an ambulance for an older lady who was having a seizure (not a grand one, the kind where someone just stops talking mid sentence and can't respond). He had to call himself because management didn't believe him when he reported it, and he got written up because an ambulance was "bad publicity" and "disrupting sales".

It is spoken of that when he, Sam the Radiant One, was born, a triple rainbow encircled the city of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, and a cormorant sang of the glory of the deeds he would do in his life! When he entered school, he was already fluent in English, and began teaching the teachers! After school, he went to college and mastered every single subject in human history, before creating the greatest grocery store chain on Earth, which made every other grocer jealous forever. Also, he didn't have a butthole. That's important for some reason.

"We' re like a family here" lol, when Walmart tried to set foot in Germany they tried to introduce a guide line that forbade coworkers from hanging out together in private or 'give each other lustful looks, make suggestive jokes or communicate in any way that could be interpreted in a sexual way'. They even had a phone number for employees to snitch on each other

I'm in the mason union and I love it. They won't let you do anything unless it's as safe as it can possibly be, we aren't rushed unless we have a huge pour going, but we all know it's go time when that happens. It's fucking amazing. I'm happy to pay a few dollars to the union in exchange for a comfortable, safe place to work. And, despite paying that few dollars, I make way more than any Craigslist labor worker would ever make. The only way I could really make more money by doing this work is starting my own business.

German here, have visited usa on work trips several times. The greeters were amongst the weirdest things there (besides the unspeakably low privacy on every single bathroomstalls due to stupendously large gaps in the toilet door). The role of the greeter always felt so fake to me. It is obvious that the person doing the greeting doesn't want to do it and truly doesn't give a shit about your general presence. And everybody comming through the door just knows that, and doesn't care for it either.
Who on earth is convinced that having a greeter is a great idea? All it does (in my eyes) is convey a strong sense of a very, very bad attempt of brainwashing people into feeling appreciated. It makes me squirm inside, this blatant act of insincerity and greed.
Great video, guys! Due to the age restriction yt has placed on this video (for whatever reasons), this has been the last video I've bingewatched from this channel. Can't wait for the next one, I love your content!

The workers really are scared of union representatives. One store was taking steps towards a union meeting, and was completely closed because of it. So, many workers have it in their head that if they spoke to a representative everyone could end up losing their jobs because of it.
As far as the ā open door policyā they would say management couldnāt retaliate if people express concerns. However, Iāve seen them pick people apart later, and fire them for meaningless stuff. Everyone knew that wasnāt what it was really about though. At two points during my career there they fired a large amount of people who were close to retirement for petty reasons.
I worked as an optician for a long time, and would not recommend it to anyone. It was underpaid, and I ended up personally screwed over so many times. Worked open to close, came in on days off, acted as manager whenever we were without one for up to six months at a time. Iām from a small group of towns with little employment opportunities. Eventually I quit and now drive a super far distance to work in a factory. I donāt regret it at all. Sorry to ramble I guess I just had some stuff to get out lol.

im employed by walmart. the worshiping of Mr. Sam is on another level. Pictures of him up in places of honor, corporate radio station always has "fun facts" about his life and work all the time, the GM constantly mentioning Mr. Sam's "vision", quotes of his in training vids and on the break room wall. it's f-ing batshit
