People in the US will probably never fully realize how influential 50 was for the whole world back then.
Being from Europe (Italy), I vividly remember how really few listened to hip hop back then. People knew 2Pac, Biggie and Em, but not many listened to them. Then 50 came in the picture.
Every kid my age started to dress like him, act like him and listen to his music. European artists started imitating him and producers started to copy his beats.
50 Cent influenced a whole culture worldwide.
Legend.

The Shady Aftermath/G Unit era was something special. I've always said, the mid and early 2000s were the second coming of the 90s. Hip Hop was still in a great place back then. You had the south doing its thing with Outkast, Lil Jon, 8 Ball and MJG, TI, Luda, Killer Mike etc. You had the east with 50, G Unit, Dipset, Nas, Jay Z, Fabolous etc. Eminem in Detroit, the midwest rappers and a whole bunch of other people. Even westcoast Hip Hop was still relevant at the time; And guess what? They all sounded different from each other unlike the bs you hear today.
