I love how the song at the beginning of the film is full of dread and angst, but by the end, turns hopeful instead. Nothing about the song is altered, but the context changes everything.

I definitely didn't think a song like this could appear in a Batman movie, but damn did it feel right and set the tone for the beginning AND ending of the movie.

A very dark, haunting song. It really conveys the inner demons Kurt was struggling with. You are missed Kurt.😢

I was so hyped when they actually used this song in the movie. set the tone so well in the trailers and fit the same way in the actual film. incredible usage of music in both the trailer and the movie, really rare to see movies and trailers that use the same music while being used so well.

The idea that someone took these feelings of pain and depression and put them into such an appealing song is an incredible one.

This is the most haunting song straight from the underworld. It feels like depressions, agony, and pain.

When Gordon says “We really gotta go man.” And it shows batman and the kid who’s father was just murdered stare at each other, this song cuts in… gives me chills every time.

The repitition in this song is so powerful. It doesn't end, it's all just one long dark, dreary experience. Every time it pauses, it just starts right back up again the same way it was. Something's still in the way. It ends in the same way it begins, for no reason, dark, and alone, with no hope or direction.

The Batman really overshadowed the fact that this song is about Kurt when he was homeless living under a bridge.

Yup, a masterpiece and it took a song with only 2 chords in it to create a mood that is so full of emotion.

They literally could not have picked a better song for The Batman and it’s a great way to introduce new fans to Nirvana. Very well made movie 👌🏼

I'm 50 this year and can remember buying this cassettein 1992 when I was 20. 30 years ago and only seems like yesterday. Boy time flies. When this played in the Batman movie I was more than pleased. It went so well with the movie 😋

For a long time it was believed that the lyrics of the song spoke about the life of the singer who, as a teenager, lived on the streets of Aberdeen in Washington after being kicked out of his home, and who survived by sleeping and fishing under the street bridge. Young. However, it was not until 2001 that Cobain's biography, Heavier than Heaven by writer Charles Cross, confirmed that during the four months that Cobain lived on the streets, he slept in various places such as cardboard boxes, hallways of buildings abandoned, waiting rooms in town hospitals, etc. And that he wrote the lyrics imagining what it would feel like to be a person who lives under the bridge and is slowly dying of an illness, since that was a kind of fantasy that the singer had.
