I've only seen paint guns in person but they looked like real guns to me~ totally understand why Tammy called it that. Our minds initially see what we expect. I'm assuming the only similar weapon Tammy ever saw pointed at her was playing paintball w/her boys (like me & most boy moms). That's why she'd think that- only in war zones wld your brain consider real criminal w/real gun.

Tammy was right when she said it was a paintball gun, her sense of perception was spot on. its absolutely frightening. To think about the fear she experienced that day. 10 days before her death. RIP Tammy!

Chad’s trial was the first time I heard Tammy’s 911 call re this shooting attempt, and I was disappointed to hear Tammy’s own words saying, “I could tell it was a paint ball gun.” That statement is said with a certain degree of certainty. I’m shocked Prior wasn’t all over that.

My guess is Alex foolishly tried to make a homemade silencer for his ar, like an empty 2 L Soda bottle (painted black) attached around the barrel . and that made it look more like a paint gun.
Tammy may have said that out-loud first & Chad went with it. … I just don’t think he’s clever enough or fast to think on his feet.
