***this is long but PLEASE READ DEAR GOD AHHH -- OKAY WOW this has gotten more views than i ever expected. ngl, this is a total burner account (sorry, new subscribers?? i don't plan on posting anything else, appreciate u tho?) so i've been slow to interact with this the last couple days. oops. I just wanted to say, since I saw a few comments about it and i think i should've been clearer about this: I'm very aware of the situation with dave chappelle and i can totally see how this entire video comes across as, like... me ignoring/supporting john being friends with (or at least working with) a known transphobe?? i guess? especially given that the heartstopper franchise is so so uplifting for queer folks, so... weird juxtaposition there, for sure. i totally see that. i just wanna make it clear that i DO NOT condone any of the sh*tty stuff chappelle has said about trans people, or john for giving him a platform perform at his show, for that matter. i am very sorry if this vid came across that way <3 i'm queer & non-binary myself and i made this as a sort of "recovering" mulaney fan (i largely fell off post-olivia-munn scandal, tbh??) since his older bits from when i WAS a big fan kept popping up in my head when i'd rewatch heartstopper, much like the pride and prejudice edit i referenced. so i truly just made this for fun/laughs, which i think most of y'all seem to see where i'm coming from. but i 100% think the criticism of john is absolutely valid too, and i do think it's important to call him out on it!! i'm more than okay with some light discourse about the matter in the comments, by all means -- just please keep it civil or i'll just scrap this entire thing. again, i GENUINELY thought MAAAAYBE 10 people would watch this and that'd be that, otherwise i'd have maybe clarified my intentions a little (...a LOT) better đ
