Total investment about $65 which is not cheap but if you can find a thorp diff it is like $130+. Also, when I had to get new "joints" (what the dogbones use to connect to the stock diff) they were VERY hard to find and like $40 (I lucked out and my buddy Wade hooked me up! Also, stock diffs are not cheap on Ebay (maybe around $40). So all things, considered, it isn't a bad deal if it works well! To be continued!

Thanks for this-just picked one of these up needing a complete strip and clean/rebuild. Not familiar with this car so your vid very helpful. Have to source a couple of missing parts and replace the pogo sticks for real shocks, hope the diff is ok but might give this mod a go if the original is knackered. Will keep it brushed out of respect for the age of the car but probably a 21T should give it a bit of zip. Subbed.

Very intersting to put a Tamiya gear into a Kyosho car. Normaly Kyoshos have the better gear set-ups.
