I used to be annoyed by the monotone, computer-generated narration voice. But now that I've gotten used to it, I actually prefer it to a real human voice. It's relaxing and serene. The narration's unemotional, non-human origin makes you focus on the content instead of the delivery. These are great for falling asleep to or when you have insomnia. And most importantly, these stories come from normal, everyday people who have little to gain by posting their experiences online, which lends credibility. Keep 'em coming!!

My grandfather's house was briefly haunted. My grandmother passed of lymphoma there in 2001, then I moved in to keep an eye on my grandfather. There was always the feeling of someone else there, just out of sight. I knew who it was, so it wasn't scary. Nana was the sweetest woman ever. In 2011, my grandfather got sick. He passed in September, after seven weeks in the hospital. After that, there was no more presence in the house. Nana had been waiting for him, so they could go together

I inherited a house from my grandpa when he passed in my early 20s. I thought it was a blessing and that I would never have to pay rent again. But there were so many things wrong with that house and I don't mean maintenance problems. Footsteps in the hallways, scratching in the walls, shadow figures vanishing around doorways. My pets acting spooked and not wanting to stay in the house. There were several occasions I woke up with scratches on my body or things thrown around my bedroom. It was too much when I was sitting on my computer one night and saw the pale, dead-looking face of a woman staring at me from around the doorway. I noped out of there, packed up my stuff and went back to my parent's house. Currently, I rent it as an Airbnb and usually mention that it's haunted in the ad. Even still I've had some people bail and leave the house in the middle of the night.

I rented two houses that were haunted. One spirit was mischievous but not necessarily evil. The other one was relatively friendly/benign.

When I was young, my brother and I spent the night at my grandma's house. I slept in the easy chair in the living room and he slept on the floor in front of the easy chair because he stayed up later than I did playing video games. In the middle of the night I woke up and saw a shadow person looming over him. The closest thing I could compare it to is a dementor from Harry Potter but there was no face at all and it was pitch black with small sparks in it like the starry night sky itself was inside my grandmas living room. Just a smoky shadow that hovered over the ground. I could tell it was bent over a little like it was looking down at him. But long story short I ran away to my grandmas room to wake her up and when we went back into the living room it was gone and my brother was okay.

I live in a house where two people were murdered. I usually tell them if you don't quite down I will burn the house to the ground! Two weeks ago a glass flew across the kitchen and broke. I said don't test me. Been quite since.
