Seven minutes of singing = seven minutes of applause. Cough it up fellas, hand it over 🫴

This further confirms my theory that Anna is an immortal goddess of music and is just singing songs of her experiences through the centuries.

Ah I see, Anna has entered her “covering songs vaguely related to Greek myth” era, and I approve. Beautiful as always!

I love how you translated the French interviews from the background; your voice is spectacular as usual 🤍

Last song, Anna was Athena singing to Odysseus, now she’s a goddess singing to Achilles… 👀👀

I'm a really big fan of the original song, and the French parts although hard to hear is deeply interesting and adds a lot of context to the song. this is my best attempt to translate all of the blocks of quiet lyrics from the original songs using various resources: "I see that many people die because they feel that life is not worth living. I see others paradoxically being killed for their ideas, For illusions that give them a reason to live. What is called a reason for living is also an excellent reason to die." "Of a building manager who had killed himself, they once said that he had lost his daughter five years ago; That he had changed a lot since then and that this story had deeply affected him." "What triggers the crisis is almost always uncontrollable. Newspapers often talk about personal sorrows or incurable diseases. These explanations are valid; But one should know whether on that very day a friend of the desperate person did not speak to him in an indifferent tone. That person is the greatest danger, Because the desperate person thinks that if nobody cares about him, it is because he is no longer worth caring about." "There is the answer of yes and the answer of no. It would be too good to be true. But one has to take into account those who, without concluding, always ask questions. Here, I'm hardly being ironic; it's about the majority. I also see that those who answer no act as if they thought yes. In fact, they are ashamed to say no, and they answer no because they did not have the courage to say yes." All of these lyrics are hidden quietly broken up, spoken in a different language in the original song. how strange and interesting

God Damn... The duet section where Patroclus and Hector are trying to convince Achilles down their way was always a highlight for me in the Gang of Youths version... but this time... literal tears... Well done

With a female vocalist I can't help but imagine this song being sung by Briseis, Achilles' captured bride. Who is not only hugely forgotten in a lot of modern discussions about the iliad, but is also the victim of vastly contradictory accounts from achilles in the iliad where he sometimes calls her his wife and other times refers to her like property. I can imagine the two voices in this song being both her, depending on which part of the Iliad is being drawn from.

Ok 3 things: 1. I love that you translated the French parts. I had never heard it in English before and wow is it some powerful stuff. 2. This part at 4:35 is incredible. Oh my gosh I love it so much 3. The line " you crave the applause but hate the attention will never not hit me on personal level. I relate to that line a tremendous amount

I super appreciate incorporating the speaking part underneath the music. I think it's really important and really what makes this song work. the Iilliad broke me and the duet part is Patroclus talking to him from beyond just makes me sob

Okay first, seven minutes of singing, technically longer since you had to sing both lines for the duet around four and half minutes in. If I could I'd give you standing ovation for that, easily. Second, god dammit how this song brings me to tears. Hearing a singer begging someone not to end their lives while that same person is forced to listen to their cruel inner thoughts berate them simply for existing, two voices fighting against each other until the singer can finally break through. Crazy powerful stuff. Thank you for covering this, it's absolutely gorgeous.

Lyrics (I think I got it all-?) Achilles, Achilles, Achilles, come down Won’t you get up off, get up off the roof? You’re scaring us and all of us, some of us love you Achilles, it’s not much but there’s proof You crazy-assed cosmonaut, remember your virtue Redemption lies plainly in truth Just humour us, Achilles, Achilles, come down Won’t you get up off, get up off the roof? -I see that a lot of people die, because they think that life wasn't worth to be lived. I see others that are, paradoxically, killed for ideas, for illusions, that they give them a reason to live (this, that we call reason to live is at the same time an excellent reason to die) Achilles, Achilles, Achilles, come down Won’t you get up off, get up off the roof? The self is not so weightless, nor whole and unbroken Remember the pact of our youth Where you go, I’m going, so jump and I’m jumping Since there is no me without you Soldier on, Achilles, Achilles, come down Won’t you get up off, get up off the roof? Loathe the way they light candles in Rome But love the sweet air of the votives Hurt and grieve but don’t suffer alone Engage with the pain as a motive Today of all days, see How the most dangerous thing is to love How you will heal and you’ll rise above About a manager that killed himself it was said that he had lost his daughter five years age, that he changed a lot after that and that this story had Achilles, Achilles, Achilles, jump now You are absent of cause or excuse So self-indulgent and self-referential No audience could ever want you You crave the applause yet hate the attention Then miss it, your act is a ruse It is empty, Achilles, so end it all now It's a pointless resistance for you -What triggered the crisis is almost always uncontrollable. The newspapers often talk about « personal sorrow » or « untreatable disease ». These explanations are valid. But it should be known if the same day a friend of the desperate hasn't spoken to him with an indifferent tone. This one is the - Achilles, Achilles, just put down the bottle Don’t listen to what you’ve consumed It’s chaos, confusion and wholly unworthy Of feeding and it’s wholly untrue You may feel no purpose nor a point for existing It’s all just conjecture and gloom And there may not be meaning, so find one and seize it Do not waste yourself on this roof Hear those bells ring deep in the soul Chiming away for a moment Feel your breath course frankly below And see life as a worthy opponent Today of all days, see How the most dangerous thing is to love How you will heal and you’ll rise above Crowned by an overture bold and beyond Ah, it’s more courageous to overcome -The souvenirs of a lost country, the hope of a promised land. This divorce between the man of his life. You want the acclaim, the mother of mothers (It’s not worth it, Achilles) More poignant than fame or the taste of another (Don’t listen, Achilles) But be real and just jump, you dense motherfucker (You’re worth more, Achilles) You will not be more than a rat in the gutter (So much more than a rat) You want my opinion, my opinion you’ve got (No one asked your opinion) You asked for my counsel, I gave you my thoughts (No one asked for your thoughts) Be done with this now and jump off the roof (Be done with this now and get off the roof) Can you hear me, Achilles? I’m talking to you [Bridge] I’m talking to you I’m talking to you I’m talking to you Achilles, come down Achilles, come down Yes and no. That would be too easy. But we need the part of those that, without finishing, question anything. Here, I am being slightly ironic: It is about the vast majority. I equally want that those who answer no act as if they think yes. In fact- Throw yourself into the unknown With pace and a fury defiant Clothe yourself in beauty untold And see life as a means to a triumph Today of all days, see How the most dangerous thing is to love How you will heal and you’ll rise above Crowned by an overture bold and beyond Ah, it’s more courageous to overcome.
