What makes this different from all the others, it wasn't the blood that triggered her to start the destruction, but rather the fact that Tommy was killed because of the prank. All the other ones, she soon becomes broken because of the blood or goes into a trance, but here, she actively targets people who were most likely part of the prank, not because of the prank itself, but because they took away the nice boy who gave her what would've been one of the best nights of her life.

As a victim of bullying, I smile everytime watching this, because I feel like Carrie is showing everyone the exact torment she was forced upon by society. The trauma and abuse is the reason why Carrie snapped and I would snap too.

Here's what arguably makes this version of the Black Prom a bit more sadistic: While the 76 film was essentially Carrie snapping and the 2002 film had her basically losing control of her powers in a trance, this one was essentially Carrie finally going "I do not care anymore: I want everyone fucking dead "

Carrie killing Billy first then doing the slow dread up to Chris's death was one thing this remake got right. I liked the personal nature of Carrie getting revenge on Chris vs the other two versions where she just tosses the car aside killing them with no thought. =)
