I honestly think Frusciante and flea have permanently influenced each other’s style after the 2000’s

The fact that he started with the chords for can't stop then developed a melancholy and dissonant solo makes me happy that John Frusciante is back. It's like watching and knowing how his distress will be relieved in just a couple years

This is clearly not Flea. This guy is wearing a T-shirt.

His unique style and perspective on the bass was the first influence on me as a bass player. Since Frusciante left the Chili's they have never been the same, but I will always love Flea and Chad.

You can find all over YouTube bassists who show off how skilled and technical they can be, and I love it, but this. This is just pure feeling that touches the soul and emotions. You can't just create something like this, you have to be it and that's why it's so powerful and captivating. Art is far more powerful than people give it credit for and Flea is showing a beautiful example of that in this Solo.

The one bassist that is loved more than the frontman of the band

To people who are basically complaining, if you weren't thinking "it's the bassist from RHCP" while listening to the video, you'd probably view it differently and maybe appreciate it more? I think this is amazing, it feels like an emotional outburst, short and aggressive and dissonant.

It’s an experience solo meaning you have to feel the solo its not one of his solos that he is trying to be flashy

This has shades of Pink Floyd 'one of these days"' about it!

Its simple, Simply the Greatest Bassett of all time, and multi talented musician. When he's leaping around on stage live, he never misses a note. All hail Flea!!!!
