Fun Fact: MGMTs main goal when they started their career was just to mess with people. They wanted the most generic, poppiest sounding songs to try and prank people, but ended up being labeled âtoo genericâ yet original and won a Grammy from it. Their music had some of the catchiest hits to be released in the early 2000âs. They were never meant to be this famous, it was only a joke.

Watching the end credits, I realise I've come from a time when crappy wobbly VHS was an unavoidable technical limitation, to a time when it's become a deliberate aesthetic. I bet there's filters, running on more computing power than the whole world had in 1982, just dedicated to creating that wobbly, colour-faded effect. Getting older is weird, and I'm not even 40 yet. History's getting faster and faster.

This behind-the-scenes stuff is a great companion piece to the original video. The baby is okay; his mother really loves him; all of the monsters are just people. Even if you 'know' that's all true already, it makes me feel better to see it for myself

Fun fact: MGMT donât even consider themselves a band, they see themselves as pranksters. They started making music to mock pop socks, so they made the most generic music they could think of. Ironically, they made songs better than most pop music!
