Im 58 and this reminds me of my Dad taking me to bars on Saturday mornings in Charlotte NC.......it was always the same, "I'm going to stop by here for a couple then we'll go". The bar matron would feel so sorry for me that she would give me a roll of quarters for the pool table.

That last transition was absolutely beautiful. To me it showed that even when he would lose bets and be beaten because he and his son couldn't win even when he was a child he never stopped loving him and believing in him, and didn't stop, even when he lost on purpose.
