This is maybe the first song in my Life that I listen to everyday for weeks now. Maybe its not the intention of the song but the whole arc and the lyrics paints a portrait of the feeling when you are maybe addicted or in generally bad circumstances “It was february I was cold and I was high” and you say fuck this I am gonna change and you know you are going to because you want to live and not waste away but you also know its gonna be a storm and this is where the expressiveness of Joe’s voice really shines will this storm be a violent joy or something that I should fear it feels like something beyond good or bad but nonetheless monumental and unavoidable it’s gonna be the life you finally choose to live instead of inertia or fear. Also love the kind of anti climactic ending right before the storm comes also the music is exceptionally good. Maybe others feel differently but this is my read.

Idk why but after hearing “are you ready for the storm,” for the 120th time, I really realized I wasn’t. Not a literal tornado or weather event, but the storm of life. I’m not doomed to not be ready, im just not ready right now.
