I spend most of my time in society feeling like a freak, an outsider. I so appreciate this space because , here, I find others who share the all consuming quest to better understand what it is to be conscious, to better understand, what is consciousness. Thank you RLK

What gets me is my ability to become conscious within a dream world. Lucid Dreaming. My mind becomes aware in an unconscious state. My brain is sleep so to speak...but I'm interacting within a world it created.

I love that view of learning from talking and listening to those we desagree the most. The brain is the material part of mind that you can measure.

"It's an open question whether the brain can entirely explain the mind. But, I should speak with those whom I disagree. That's the best way to learn."

I don't recall any discussion with Sir Roger Penrose on this subject, while I have seen Stuart Hammeroff discussing the microtubules, I would like to see Roger Penrose discuss what he thinks of this subject. Great series, thanks so much for making a video series of such import.

The observer observing the observer is a quandary. How can we definitively explain consciousness when we are observing ourselves?

Atomizing or reducing organisms to subatomic fractions . When I was a child, I had several friends, who were eager to dismantle their battery toys in order to “research” what was in the inside that made them work. The only thing they accomplished dismantling their toys, was the regret for having dismantled them, followed by the sobbing for not being able to reassemble them.

When I have out of body experiences I still feel like a whole person, sometimes I don't realize I am out of body until I return to my body. So, the Mind is seperate from the brain, yet works through the brain when we are in the physical. I can't take my brain with me when I am not in my body.
