I’ve been saving that video so I could watch/listen to it while doing my own laundry, which is what I’m doing right now 😊 just wanna say thank you for making these videos, they’re really appreciated ❤ I’ve been really struggling with getting chores done lately so this helps! I have 3 trips planned this year, including leaving Europe for the first time and going on a long flight with my in-laws, who don’t really ’get’ my autism… it’s only in June but I’m already stressing out about it 😅 I’ve been getting more claustrophobic in public transportation lately and had a nasty panic attack on the plane a year ago… I also really dislike leaving my cats so we have cameras and a super trustworthy catsitter visiting them twice a day and sending us updates with pics/vids which really helps.

This was all so painfully relatable that it may just as well have been a callout post xD
I’m proud of you for getting your laundry sorted! Thanks for hanging out. I would LOVE to do chores “with you”! I always feel like I need emotional support to do the doing and it’s hard to find actual content that scratches that itch for me so this was really awesome and I hope you do more!
Also I hope your trip is absolutely amazing! I’m glad you’ll have a better support system at home to let you know everything is okay and send you pics and videos. That’s going to help SO MUCH!

You were conscious about mentioning Harry Potter. I today was talking to some friends about Japan and they said “well we didn’t realise you liked Japan “ which was in a fun sarcastic way. This makes me feel a little self conscious. Should we mask our interests? Ie hold back? It feels good to talk about what makes us happy.

7:30 Yep. 😭 I definitely am someone who would rather overpack than underpack as well. Because I have allergies, if I forget food I can't just buy food at a place, if I forget my specific soap then if I take my chances with whatever soap is provided I may break out in contact dermatitis, etc.
There's also the whole paperwork nightmare, of making sure to have all of the right paperwork for wherever you're going. I visited Japan in 2019 and because I'm prescribed epinephrine (which is an injectable medication), I had to submit special paperwork and get a Yakkan Shoumei to be able to bring that with me into the country. Making sure to have all the paperwork needed to bring any medications overseas is a complete nightmare, especially because it's potentially a matter of life and death.
Also just flying in general is super high-stress. US airports are super-intense security-wise. I've gotten pat downs by TSA not once, but TWICE. It's not fun being treated like a criminal just because I wore my hair in a braid, or had on too many layers of clothing around my crotch. New situations are already scary enough being on the spectrum, but unwanted touch sucks as well and is extra-uncomfortable for us compared to the general population. And airports are also a complete and utter sensory nightmare. They're loud, there's people everywhere, lots of different conversations going on at once, etc. Actually being on a plane SUCKS because of how loud they are, and hunting earmuffs only block out so many decibels

I cleaned my partner’s resin supplies - been putting it off for a few days. Thanks for doing this!
I would imagine that your mental state was generally more precarious back when you were with your abusive x-boyfriend. I hope that now that he’s not a part of your life or your travel plans, you’re able to enjoy it more.
A lot of what you talked about reminded me of OCD. Not saying you have it (how would I know), but looking up what people with OCD do to cope with traveling might be useful? Enjoy your trip, I look forward to your travel blogs (no pressure)

I really appreciate this video , you gave me a chance to visually see what it looks like when we are mentally berating ourselves , I love that you are trying to be kinder to yourself, me too, more videos on this please , It makes me feel at ease knowing there are others who find household chores difficult, Great content thanks for creating & sharing & I hope you have a lovely trip 😊

I've never been on holiday. Never had the money. Then when I had enough, I'd get so much anxiety. Even worrying that family wouldn't notice if 1 of our 3 cats got in the washing machine, cooker or cupboard backspace. Since adopting a semi-feral + feral, they can't go into a cattery. All 3 are house cats. But the worry has reduced a little since getting rid of the cooker and having a small air fryer.
