When she’s pointing to the camera my heart admittedly dropped, and most definitely that everyone not knowing she was actually drowning

She was actually drowning in real life but no one helped her bc they thought it was amazing acting but it’s STILL AMAZING

fun fact: during the scene the lady playing the magic act was actually drowning because the film set put actual handcuffs on her in the tank but they were easy break away ones or whatever you want to call them. but the metal stick inside that clicks them together, while the lady was trying to undo them, she accidentally pushed the metal stick too hard while she was trying to push down then unlock it. but then she started screaming for help but everybody thought she was just acting because that was basically apart of the act. dont worry she managed to get help and be set free ❤

This is why you ALWAYS have a safe signal when you’re doing any sort of scene like this. That way the people on set can tell the difference between a convincing performance and genuine distress.

0:54 -the “she can’t get out!” - her pointing DIRECTLY at the camera and screaming “stop!” -the way the guy in front of her gets shoved when he’s about to run to get help and it jumps to a whole new scene. Crazy how she was actually drowning and they kept it knowing she wouldn’t of done another take. Don’t blame her tbh.

fun fact: the piranha's actually wouldnt have attacked her, even if they were starving. her thrashing motions would spook the crap out of piranhas.

I feel sorry for those extras that sensed something was off, but were too afraid to say something for fear of interrupting a good scene. Their anxiety probably went through the roof because they were confused about whether it was real or not.

She was screaming: “Turn the cameras off!” And everyone still thought it was an act. I don’t think someone yelling for help and for them to cut the cameras was part of the script

That fact that she looked dead at the camera and said "cut them off" literally scares me 😰

I cant believe she was actually drowning. They should at least created some hand signal in case it was real. The poor woman must have been terrified. Directors need to be more careful with stunts like these.
