District 9 4K HDR | Ending Scene 2160p 10bit HDR True HD 7.1 Atmos
Technically brilliant and emotionally wrenching, District 9 has action, imagination, and all the elements of a thoroughly entertaining science-fiction classic.

In 1982, a massive star ship bearing a bedraggled alien population, nicknamed "The Prawns," appeared over Johannesburg, South Africa. Twenty-eight years later, the initial welcome by the human population has faded. The refugee camp where the aliens were located has deteriorated into a militarized ghetto called District 9, where they are confined and exploited in squalor. In 2010, the munitions corporation, Multi-National United, is contracted to forcibly evict the population with operative Wikus van der Merwe in charge. In this operation, Wikus is exposed to a strange alien chemical and must rely on the help of his only two new 'Prawn' friends

This movie just had something else, no other movie has come close. It is hard to describe but everyone who loves this movie knows what I mean.

Originally Peter Jackson was going to produce a Halo film with Neil as the director. But then he saw Alive in Jo'burg and said that Neil should make a film about his short. Eventually it turned into District 9. One of the greatest decisions ever.

Rather alarming how humanity never considered how advanced and dangerous the prawn are, and how horribly they treated them and if they are pissed they can come back and end humanity effortlessly

I love how Koobus thought he could keep Maybe 8 Prawns away with just a pistol, it was satisfying to see him get ripped apart

just like in the real world, the guy that exposed all the horrible shit gets sent to prison, while the company just has its ceo ousted and then claim that "we've changed!" even though they definitey haven't.

One of the most criminally underrated sci-fi films ever. Everyone who's watched it and remembers it for at least the ending, has my love & respect. No words would ever suffice

Eventhough it’s been 20 years, he still knew how to pilot the mothership like a pro.

When I saw the movie, I was so shocked. It doesn’t even look CGI, it looks REAL. And it set itself up perfectly for a sequel!

What takes my breath away was the navigation Chris was operating. He activated it showing not a star map but a galaxy map, added coordinates for the desired galaxy then from the galaxy he added coordinates for the star system his planet resides, selecting his home world. Just incredible.

What’s sad is he was just a happy married man who cared so much about his wife and his job and was very optimistic and caring to turning into a alien for years and people think he was a threat and wasn’t able to go back to human is upsetting, I hope they make a sequel one day and for him to get his life back

This movie is one of the (if not the best) 4k remasters around. Most transfers seem to always change the color grading and tone of the film, like adding filters etc. while here they preserved the original movie and just improved the colors, contrast and detail. wish all transfers were like this!

I like to think when those prawns saved him, it’s because they saw what he did to help Christopher and recognised him as one of their own.

While Wikus's fate is very sad, it would not have happened without his clumsiness in handling the alien spray.

I tear up every time I see him making that flower. So depressing. One of my favorite sci-fi films of all time.

The fact that this film was in the same category as Avatar in best picture says a lot that we had 2 great sci-fi action films.

I hate that people are asking for a sequel. This was a movie about empathy and self-sacrifice. It's not meant to have a happy ending. Life requires sacrifice.
