Box pentatonics are for learning how to play the scales within your hand reach. Musicians use the pentatonics very differently. This is the first part of a series about conquering the Pentatonic Scale. It might go against the knowledge you know, but it is definetly how the pros set their mind to the instrument. Enjoy... more parts coming.

Finally, a logical minded online guitar instructor. Where were you 2 years ago? I have "learned" more about the fret board, shapes and WHY it works the way it does in 4 of your videos than I ever did in the 100's of others I've watched since I first started 2 years ago. I am cleaning out my shortcuts and subs.

I've been playing guitar for 16 years. Guitar lessons, teachers, videos, friends, no one has ever came close to explaining the intervals, why they are important and where they are. Your videos have helped me understand how to solo better, but understand why It's better. Hitting the home note, changing with the chords. Thank you for these videos. This information is what I've been trying to find since I started but was never able to articulate what I wanted to learn. Very appreciated!

I think you should have way more than 56k subs, I believe you are one of the best guitar tutors on the tube.

A good lesson for those not familiar with the concept of scale shapes and how to connect them.

I play bass like this but have always had a mental block 😲 applying it to guitar - what a bone head! - This is exactly what I've been thinking, learning the interval relationship between the notes would be the way to go and you appear from the internet ether! Thanks again! KC

This is fucking ridiculous, I never thought there would be a better way to learn scales, but DAMN. This is waaaaay better than just playing all of the boxes together. Thank you so much.
