lordy. 3 years passed. it's been that long, already? 'tis wonderful to be on the journey with you; only wish it didn't pass so quickly! the only consolation is knowing that there are years yet to come and I'll find myself in Oregon a few dozen times again. God bless all the Roseburg peoples. Here, we are all immensely eager to see those kitchen cabinets come to fruition! That sparkling Lady of yours deserves a treat, and more time on the channel, too! ciao Darrell

I remember watching the logging vid 3 years ago with the young man who helped you slab them with his own sawmill that you helped fix. Time flies!

You are so fortunate to be able to get such fantastic wood. Here in Ireland decent wood is very difficult to find and if you do find some it is way beyond expensive. I envy you.

Working in a sawmill is a young man’s job, with a good back. Ohhh how I miss those days.

I have a black walnut tree that is about 120-130ft tall on a piece of property I bought. It’s healthy, I had an arborist come look at it and say in 25years it’s the biggest he’s ever seen. About 6ft wide in diameter for around 14ft at the base before it splits. Looking to do the same with it and dry it for a few years. It’s been fun learning about this process. The timing of this upload is funny synchronicity.

Milling a bunch of my own lumber has caused me to move each individual stick so many times that I don't even want to guess at the real number of hand bombing occasions. I would love to hear Scott's ideas on inventory management.

It's great to see these boards again. Having watched the felling, sawing and first drying processes I'm really looking forward to seeing what you make of them.

Oh what to build next? White oak and walnut are my two current favorites. Just love it!

I remember All Native Hardwoods which used to be down in that area. I don't care for oak that much though. I do prefer solar kiln or vacuum kiln dried woods to standard kiln dried woods. Wish people could tame madrone! My favorite bowl turning wood....

Last summer I had J&B kiln a bunch of 3” thick madrone live edge slabs from a tree on my property. Like you, I have no idea what I’m going to do with them, but that is part of the excitement and joy of this whole process
