Bit off topic from the video, but I visited Prague for the first time this weekend and wow; what an amazing and beautiful city with so many things to see and do. We visited a lot of places from the videos like Kantyna and Joystick Bar. We had an amazing weekend thanks to the videos and also the map with honest exchange places. THANK YOU Honest Guides and we will definitely be visiting again! ❤️🇨🇿

I never respond to an offer that I did not originate. I don't answer phone calls from numbers that I don't recognize nor do I open emails/texts from sources that I don't recognize.
Am I scam-proof? Probably not - but I haven't been scammed yet. And I'm going on 78 years - so the odds appear to be in my favor.
Keep up the good work.

And the worst part? There are still some legit state institutions (like Financial office or Police), which call from hidden numbers! Everytime this happens, I just tell them that I refuse to talk to anyone, who is calling me from a hidden number and if they want something from me, they are welcome to do so by proper channels, because I cannot know that they are not scammers.

I was once called by a very obvious not-my-country woman that my passport was expired and that I could prevent a huge fine by paying now for a new registration. Right. I had just moved from one Shengen country to another so not only was I safe anyway, I KNEW my passport was good. I tried to occupy her for about ten minutes with nonsense questions but she eventually gave up and hung up on me.

I am visiting Praugue with my wife in September and am so glad i found your channel! You are a real mensch! Thanks for looking out for people. And for putting yourself in danger to help people visiting your city. I have dealt with some scammers in Italy. It wasn’t quite as aggressive as some of your encounters..I’m a pretty large guy and was wondering, if someone spits on me, what am i allowed to do? In America, that’s one thing you just don’t do… But, everyone here is armed. So, we don’t really have scams
as much as people that just rob you. It’s a system that’s got it’s pluses and minuses for sure. Probably more minuses. More upfront. But, if someone spits on someone here, that’s felony assault.. And that’s probably the best possible outcome.

Janek, I saw that you guys collaborated with a Danish Tv screw that shot an episode of their show while in Prague. You showed them the wall with John Lennons face and Charles Brigde. It was so cool to see you in their thumbnail. I don't think I ever clicked so fast on one of their episodes.
You all did a great job. I hope you enjoyed working with them

My dad (may he rest in peace) was scammed a few years ago... He called me while I was at my job, being a bit confused and asked me when I'd be home, asked him why but he didn't really answer (he had just got cancer diagnostified and was acting weird the last years, so I didn't think that much of it). Finished up and went home - when I got there a towel was draped over his computer screen and he was watching tv - so I went and watched, scammers had been talking to him for over 4 hours, opening bitcoin wallets in his name (having him scan ID cards etc)... They had installed 3+ remote access tools during that time also... Stopped them all ofc, and the scammers called him and yelled at him (me, so I just swore back at them and laughed) - one was Indian accent and the other Russian maybe. Anyway, we stopped the payments but his last year was severely hampered because of this (and covid). Heartless bastards... We're from Denmark, scammers spoke English...

Many banks in India have IVR informing customer that the bank does not ask for any sensitive information like card number, CVV etc. Never share this information with anybody etc. This is one way of keeping customers aware. Instead of listening to some random music on call-hold, banks should have such information and keep their customers aware.

Worth mentioning - in Poland we actually had cases when they were hijacking the phone network so they could be calling you as they are a bank, with their real phone number. This can trick you if you checked that the phone number calling you is the same as on the bank's page. If you feel like it's a fake call, hang up (and make 100% sure you DID hang up and you are not using number pad during the call), visit your banks official page and repeat everything you've heard on the last call and make sure it's a real case. Just remember to never EVER give anyone your credit card number and the code/pin to your card. If your bank is sus about something, they already took some action to stop the attacker so they can wait these 3 minutes before you find a real bank's number and call them back.
