I think what u guys touched on earlier on about the addiction aspect of it defines workaholics. It's a physical and mental compulsion. If you still can't stop it once it starts really negatively affecting your life, then it becomes an addiction.
We also need to define what work is, which can be different for everyone. For me, if I don't enjoy it but I have to do it then it's work. I define a hobby as something you do purely for your own enjoyment regardless if there's money in it or not. We need to ask ourselves why we do things. If it's more for the joy of doing it than getting money then it's not work to me. If it's more for getting money than the joy of it then it's work.

Welcome back gents! Enjoyed the conversation.
From very early on, I wanted to ask you all if you feel like you make enough time for your friends and family? I think that often can be the sign of someone who is a workaholic - when those areas of life suffer for our pursuit for success or to achieve personal goals.

I don't think the label matters. I like the way Jeff Bezos put it when he said something about work and life being more like a circle than 2 opposing sides. I think its better to ask what makes one personally neglect other important things in life in favor of work/productivity and why. Or the other way around. Welcome back!

I think a lot of us come from the gutters… we might just not know when/how to stop😭
But - It’s a privilege to get to turn our thoughts into income. If people would get paid to breathe, i don’t think we’d call them breatheaholics🌚
Striking a balance between experiencing and expressing is part of the lifestyle🪷🌞
