I’m so proud of Regina like I can’t even express it. She’s managed to continuously land these huge gigs in movie scores and yet she stays the same eccentric, unpredictable artist she’s always been. She’s never been a sell out, always keeping her artistic integrity. Good job babe, keep doing amazing for yourself sweetie.

Here's a cool story about Regina Spektor. Lollapalooza 2007; she's playing in the afternoon on a side stage. It's hot in Chicago in August, and in the middle of her set she noticed someone in the crowd in distress, probably from the heat. She stops the music and won't continue the show until she's sure the person is okay. That weekend was phenomenal, you can look at the whole list of artists that performed; that was a moment that stood out for me. She's an incredible artist and more than that, a really nice human being. Rare these days...

This song is really chilling, because it summarizes the whole point of the "Bombshell" movie. Most sexual predators crave for the sick power dynamic. Roger Ailes created this harassment system in order to reduce all his female employees to replaceable "pair of legs, telling the story". But at the same time he fed their ambition, nurtured and encouraged them to be more than one trick pony, competent enough to sustain the viewers' attention. And everything worked according to him, since that system was kept on balance: women believed that they owed him everything professionally, since without him, their supposed value was only sexual. This worked for a few decades as I understand, but he fell from his tower when few women outgrew this abusive system and had enough power to exist in professional field on their own...

I’ve never met Regina Spektor, but her mother Bella Spektor was my music teacher back in 4th and 3rd grade. I remember her saying that she would ask Regina to come visit us at the school but it never happened since she was “busy”. As a 9 yr old I never really knew who Regina Spektor was but her mother would put videos on a computer for us to watch as an example of a lesson. I’m in 6th grade now and I realized how unique Regina Spektor’s songs were and how interesting. I’m still young but I do have a taste of music 🙂
