No. Until we can get along ourselves we probably shouldn't try find another species. We'd immediately distrust and cause problems.
Also we have to accept the fact that whilst We'd hope any species advanced enough to come visit us (we are centuries off being easily able to visit other star systems, the moon and Mars we can just about do), you'd hope they'd be peaceful having survived so long... but also maybe they survived for that same reason. Because they are dangerous.
Also .. they may arrive and see how divided and prone to violence we are and think "yeah, we don't want these creatures exploring the galaxy in 200 or 300 years and causing war and issues everywhere they go. Let's squash them before they pose a real threat".
