My pops was such an important person and role model in my life so this song is my small way of honoring him.
If it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be making music.
I was able to sample some of his drums and voice from an old video, which happened to be perfectly in time with the song.
The red sweater I’m wearing on the front cover is also his from the year I was born.
Losing someone is devastating but I just feel so lucky to have had 25 years of wisdom and love from such a special person.

Mr. P. had a long and wonderful life, he raised a special family, experienced fame, adoration, and respect, lived to experience the exhilarating feeling of having grandchildren, experienced the loss of two sons who achieved a measure of greatness due to his guidance, and lost a grandson who may have had a time in the Sun yet to come. A life well-lived and one that graced this Earth. RIP Mr. P.
