I just now imagine a scene with this song , where Asha and star boy , became the new rulers of Rosas , they sing a song togheter for the kids about the stars .😢😢 So sad that the concept art were scrapped , it sounded amazing for a movie like this .😢

I really those music demos, they let me feel the process of making music. It's fantastic.

A demo track is, at its core, a rough draft by the composer so the artist has something to practice to. It’s why Julia Michaels is singing this instead of Ariana. You can also tell it’s a demo by the clear cues for when to sing, the purposeful tempo, and the chords being more apparent in the mixing.
That being said, Julia is both an incredible composer, and singer. Not to mention, her voice acting is also really good! It also looks like they changed the end to be a key change, which is cool to notice in this.

Theory Time: Every time I hear these demos I think Asha would meet an older sibling of Star later on. Including a Star family. Each trying to impress her. During this, they retell these songs based on the demos. Mirroring the current Wish film with material from the art book.
Even though Wish scrapped the original plot romance in the current film. I wouldn't mind it being adapted later on if possible. It does have a potential.
