I've always been amazed by the comparison between the two extremes in size - on the one hand we have space which is so massive and unexplored and incomprehensibly expansive, and on the other hand there is a whole other micro-world which is so small but yet equally unexplored and incomprehensibly expansive. I studied a marine virus in grad school and almost every source I cited at some point included the phrase "viruses are the most abundant biological entities in the world and world's oceans." I always loved the term "biological entity" for something that is very close to alive, but isn't quite.

I think the thing that most amazes me is the fact that every virus side by side can make a line larger than 500 milky ways... thats insane, like,... REALLY insane. As a Space Engine enjoyer i understand pretty well the humongous size of the mily way, but i cant imagine it anymore, just because of this insane count of viruses...
