This movie was made im my hometown of McMinville Oregon. I was 22 years old at the time.. I graduated from McMinnvile High School in 1978 "Home of the Grizzles" ! At aprox. 34:41 I can be seen standing on the ramp that leads up to the stadium. I'm the young girl with blonde hair, wearing light tan pants and a brown leather jacket. I'm standing next to a little boy with his arm draped over the railing. My big "movie moment" ! Sure takes me back ! I'll be 60 years young this year.

“The problem is that attitudes haven’t kept up with opportunities.” Wow, what an underrated line from the mother. It encapsulates not only what’s happening with her daughter but in society as well.

The storyline of the boys and the dress was just so sweet. I love the scene when they were peering in the window and saw her in the dress "like a woman". That was so good.

The team are so kind with her, I liked so much how they treat her like a little sister outside the game and in practices, and inside the field they treat her with such respect. I liked a lot too they went to buy her a dress and also the lady on the shop that sold them the dress cheaper without them notice it ♥♥♥

this movie just makes me so happy. I'm a girl and I play football, I might not be a quarter back ,but I am a lineman.

Great memories watching this movie. Nice seeing a movie where teenagers and adults are kind to each other and care about the feelings of their friends, neighbors, and teammates. The scene when Mrs. Maida is invited to her neighbors home, ostensibly for coffee, and she receives a heartfelt apology for the cool treatment her family had received is very well done.

I like how she was confident enough to stay away from people that did not treat her right. Like the girls at school that were obnoxious to her and Scott too, even though they supposedly made up or whatever, she did not let him push her around for the most part.

It's awesome to watch how this girl manages to overcome all the obstacles on her way, wow. I know the film not entirely true to the real story, but it still captures you and you wish to celebrate real life Tami Maida. Well done to both Tami and Helen Hunt
