I just really like the shift in meaning of the lyric "I know I'm young but my mind is well beyond my years" in the beginning it can be read as "oh I'm mature for my age I know what I'm doing 😊😊" but at the later end with everything happening in between it feels as it takes a meaning of "I'm not stupid. Perhaps I shouldn’t write this here, I have never told anyone this, but I was a teachers pet. I thought he was just an overly affectionate teacher, up until it was too late. It starts out harmless at first, normalising it and slowly going beyond. Small gestures, more sincere compliments dripping, asking if you could stay after class… and if unlucky it turns to kisses, touching inappropriately and more. He always gave me attention, gifts and made me feel special. Which in turn, made me feel indebted to him. So I returned it by “allowing” him to go beyond what is appropriate. I still feel deeply ashamed and disgusted over it, maybe I won’t ever recover.
So please, be careful out there. It could be the ones you least expect, that’s how it was for me…
