Taking up half the continent of South America, Brazil is host to vast array of landscapes and biomes - from the steamy Amazon Rainforests, to the savannah of the Planalto Central, and the lush Atlantic Forests. πŸ‡§πŸ‡·

One of the largest countries in the world in terms of land area and population, it is a unique blend of cultures from Europe, Africa and the native land itself. The history of Brazil is one of colonial exploitation and slavery, that, despite the efforts of enlightened leaders such as Dom Pedro II under the Empire of Brazil, today sees corruption and social inequality hold back what would otherwise already be a major global power. πŸ‡§πŸ‡·

Despite its colonial past Brazil worked hard to enter the modern age in the 20th Century under presidents such as Getulio Vargas, and a new capital at Brasilia began in 1960s after a massive modernistic building program under the architect Oscar Niemeyer. The economy continued to expand despite political repression under the dictatorship of the 1970s and 1980s, with companies such as Embraer joining an elite club of international aerospace companies developing large aircraft. Brazilian politics has never been quiet and the current president of Jair Bolsonaro continues to divide opinion both at home and abroad. πŸ‡§πŸ‡·

A global giant in agriculture, it has become self-sufficient in terms of energy needs, and its manufacturing size is now only second to the USA in the Americas. Rio de Janeiro is one of the most iconic and famous of all world cities, while giant SΓ£o Paulo beats even New York in size to be the largest city in the Americas. Indeed Brazil's population is truly massive, over 200 million call themselves Brazilian, and live in diverse cities across all of the States of Brazil, from Curitiba in the South, Belo Horizonte in the centre of Minas Gerais, to Salvador Bahia and Recife in the North-East, and lastly, unique Manaus in the heart of the Amazon. πŸ‡§πŸ‡·

This is the country that brought Samba, Carnival and Bossa Nova to the world and we look at the development and history of this globally influential rhythms. It is the country with the greatest of all national football teams, with players such as Pele and Neymar household names. πŸ‡§πŸ‡·

The brazilian Artur Avila has earned in 2014 the Fields Medal in Mathematics, equivalent to a Nobel Prize. Brazil is the first country of Iberian culture (including Portugal, Spain) to earn this prize, which is the most prestigious in Math.

Such a great video, as a Brazilian I usually find foreign videos about the country ranging from bad to awful. This was very well researched and done with care, congrats.

This is, without a doubt, the best english-language video about Brazil on Youtube. I clicked subscribe after just 2 minutes in, and I was impressed the whole time. The care in portraying accurate info (even down to the pronunciation of Portuguese words and the choice of footage and graphics) is commendable. I'll be bookmarking this for sure. Thank you so much for this!

I spent a month in Espirito Santo on the Atlantic coast. Its capital Vitoria is one of the best cities to live in Brazil.

I visited Sao Paulo some years ago. Now I was looking for a good documentary about Brazil and I got more than I expected: all the matters well explained, good voice, good audio, beautiful images. I'll suggest this channel to family and friends. Amazing work. Thank you !!!

I am Brazilian, and have to say it's one of the best videos made by a foreigner about my country, i ever saw. I would recommend you putting the physical geography and climate segments before the political since they are dependent of the former and maybe enlarge a bit the culture segment.

This channel is criminally underrated, such high production value deserves way more recognition. Very glad I found it. This is better than stuff on TV with million-dollar budgets, amazing work.

One thing which gives me so much pride after having seen things from the outside after living away from Brasil for so long is the fact that we are so multicultural and ethinically diverse . From Iapoque to Chui (northern most to southern most) Brasil is incredibly beautiful. I am so lucky to have been able to drive the vast majority of BR1 (101) from Natal to Pelotas. From Beaches to mountais, waterfalls that rival anything seen anywhere in the world. The food is varied according to where you are. The people are warm, friendly, welcoming, passionate, opinionated, loud, crass, and giving. The past has made us Brasilians and we are very proud bunch of people regardless of where we may live in the world, and even if we have a second citizenship-being Brasilian will bleed through even if we live in white and nothing but white Antartica.

I am absolutely impressed by the sheer quality of the geographical content you provide. I have never seen a channel before delivering such a comprehensive precise and interesting summary of a country. Keep up the good work.
