Peter, I'm a 3rd grade teacher who one day taught poetry. Â One of the poems was this old folk song called Shenandoah. Â Just out of curiosity, I googled Youtube and came across your video, which I showed the class after we read the poem. Â To my utter surprise, THEY LOVED IT and were completely touched by all the song's emotion! They request to hear the song all the time. Â It's really cute to hear inner-city kids from the Bronx sing about this great American river. Â Bravo and thanks!

What a great voice.....(and video) I was born in Missouri and spent many summers as a kid
with my brothers at our Grandparents house in little beautiful town of Blackwater, Missouri.
Greatest days of my life in so many ways.....thanks for great singing of a classic; and bringing back such fond memories, peter...all the best to you.

So proud of home
I live a half mile from the Shenandoah River been here my whole life 57 years .... This is a beautiful rendition of this classic ..... written about our ancestors leaving to go out into the wild and settle this unknown land .... but they still longed for the sight of the Shenandoah the land river and Valley
theyâd grown to Love â¤ď¸

Mr. Hollens, I don't expect you to see this comment but I had to write that my 8-year-old daughter is just now learning guitar and practicing Shenandoah. She's a very chill kid, but I played her your version of this song just now so that she could hear it in full and she burst into tears because she was overwhelmed by the beauty of your singing, I'm not exaggerating. It took long minutes for her to calm down again - May we all be moved so by art

The beautiful voice of Peter Hollens singing this special song is too lovely for words to describe.
