For those that are unaware - this was a clever scam where the owners of the video game rating agency decided that they were going to rate video games like rating notes - they put an "authenticated" video game up at auction, and bid WAAAAAAAY more than anyone else, to create a hype and a market. They used Pawn Stars as pawns, as a form of reputation laundering. It's a classic hustle, and the sellers were hedging. I think they're curranty under Federal investigation. Good times.

The seller of the super Mario cart failed to mention that he was a part owner of Wata, and was the boss of the “expert” who came in to give a value of the cart.

Just so you all know, the guy bringing in the graded Super Mario Bros never intended to sell it. $1 million dollars is a number he pulled out of his behind, in fact he works for the grading company Wata, who a few years ago were involved in a massive graded games scandal and conspiracy. Bringing in this game to Pawn Stars was nothing but to get attention to Wata and their grading service. In reality sealed games are NOWHERE near as valuable as a lot of people will say.

Used to play on the super nintendo with my mom all the time. What the item reminds me of is priceless. Miss my mom too. I like your shop, and love the staff.

The fact Pawn Stars didn't know the seller was the co-founder of the company they called to give context means that ither they don't do their homework or they were in the know and getting something out of it. The worst thing is not only have they never apologized for the stunt, they are still advertising it in vids like this.

The WATA cartridge was a fraud, the company was overvaluing games in order to cause a market bubble, Karl Jobst made an hour long video exposing the entire thing.

Awesome to see Pat the NES punk! I don't think he was seriously trying to sell it, meaning he really didn't want to part it without getting good money. More he was either invited to "sell" it or he just wanted to test waters :D

I actually remember the M82 Nintendo and when it came out. When the new games came out, the retail stores would take the older games out, load the new games in and sold the older games at a discount. The stores did that every few months until the newer consoles came out.
