SZA is a wonderful singer and a great lyricist, I love that her songs have depth. I think this song is about her struggle to break old habits, like quitting the strip club to work a job at 10AM, or stopping smoking or trying to forget this guy she's still hung up on. But she's having a hard time trying to kick these old habits and start fresh, comparing her struggle to trying to tell time on a broken clock.
