Outstanding Presentation! History is awesome, and it is wonderful to learn more about the true origins of "Christmas".

What is known as "Christmas"/"The holiday season" today is much closer to the Pagan Saturnalia than to the Christian Feast of the Nativity of the Lord.

Had a Christmas in northern Spain & recall the shops had lots of small holy ( Christian ) figurines for sale at that time so possibly a relic going back?.

A Roman might feel quite familiar with the modern December madness. Although I think they would balk at how little partying we do.

Why was the Titan Saturn such an important god in Rome while his Greek counterpart Chronos was insignificant?

Sounds good to me. The fact that Roman Christians co-opted Saturnalia and turned it into a Christian holiday does not mean they are celebrating Saturnalia.

There was never a Christian nativity observance. Christendom the Bible's false friend. Apostasy took hold after the death of the 'restraint' which was the Apostles and disciples of JC. together with people who knew the holy writings. 2 Thessalonians 2:7; 1 John 4:3 . Approx 98ce. Suitable pagan festivals were co-opted by the church to attract converts.
