the new modified hitbox of the breakout from last season, the Ace, is actually very good. theres a lot of general advantages that the breakout can give, but they come with disadvantages as well. the Ace fixes those disadvantages while keeping all the advantages (even if they also get changed slightly and you have to adjust to them a bit). the Ace is TALLER!!!!!!!!! positioned higher up and also backwards so the nose doesnt stick out quite so far. to me it feels like a more competitively capable version of the hybrid hitbox in that sense. i always loved the hybrid hitbox as well, but i could never fully switch to it since it just felt slightly too weak in some aspects. the Ace is to me what i always wanted out of the hybrid hitbox and more.
before the Ace, i would consider the octane to be the best competitive hitbox with the dominus in a close enough 2nd place to be considered but still noticeably worse (and then hybrid and breakout are about equally worse 3rd and equally worse 4th). i might even place the Ace ahead of the dominus now. i used it quite a bit instead of my beloved fennec, even, but ultimately found a couple situations where it still fell slightly short. basically now i feel like the Ace puts the game in easy mode for a lot of movement mechanics and efficiency, somewhat similar to the dominus, but it still somehow feels very octane-like in the types of hits and movements it can do. whenever i feel sluggish or unsure of my movement in the octane hitbox, i use the Ace now to remind myself what good gameplay should look like and then i strive to mimic that when i go back to the fennec. this is especially good for maintaining speed and boost in turns while positioning very accurately, walldashes, changing positions while dribbling (all types, bounce, on-car, air, rolling, everything). quick repositioning while shadowing and even when already committed like when prejumping for instance and having to improvise to stretch to block somewhere else. positioning after and during power shots and self passes off walls. basically, its movement mechanics and general reach are very good and easy to use, as is the breakout in general, but the Ace is just better positioned to be less awkward to use as well as feeling surprisingly similar to the octane hitbox which is good for switching between them

the merc hitbox to body is 1:1, i always feel consistent with it.
the dominus feels good in air, bad in ground, too flat.
the venom i used to like but idk i kinda forgot about it, i always felt speedy with it
the fennec is just.. boring, its okay but its just not that interesting.
btw u have some static noise but you can only hear it if u crank the volume too much. i didnt hear it until i increased the vol for 100%

As a c2 who would like to called a freestyler, I constantly switch between fennec, octane, dom, and skyline. probably in that order as well in terms of amount of use. I just feel like im better at ball control in octane, car control in fennec, clean touches in dom, and power in venom/skyline. Also ive been really getting into the true like chain resets and 200 boost fs so any tips on stuff is appreciated.
