Lyrics:
My big brother rode an Indian Scout
It was black like his jacket
American Spirit hangin’ outta his mouth
Just like our Daddy
He kicked-started that bike one night and broke Mamma's heart
He pointed that headlight west
Out where the wild things are

He'd call me up every couple of weeks
From South California
Talk about the desert and the Joshua Tree
And his pretty girl stories
How he bought an Airstream trailer and a J-45 guitar
Said little brother you'd love it out here
Out where the wild things are

Oh, it's hearts on fire and crazy dreams
Oh, the nights ignite like gasoline
And light up those streets that never sleep when the sky goes dark
Out where the wild things are

I called my brother from the back of that plane
The second I made it
We started drinkin’ on the strip in LA
And then it got crazy
Ended up at a house in the hills with some Hollywood stars
Kissin’ on a blonde in a backyard pool
Out where the wild things are

Oh yeah
Couple iron horse rebels
Wild as the devil
I knew I had to move back east
Said goodbye to my brother
At the end of that summer
But I knew he'd never leave

Oh, its hearts on fire and crazy dreams
Oh, where the nights ignite like gasoline
Oh, them Indian Scouts, man they’re built for speed
And oh, they said he hit that guardrail at half past three
Lit up those streets that never sleep when the sky goes dark
We buried him out in the wind 'neath the West Coast stars
Out where the wild things are

Out where the wild things are

I lost my brother when I was 19 to a motorcycle accident. He was only 26. I’m turning 27 this Saturday. I miss him every day. This song brings me a lot of nostalgia and happy memories. Thank you Luke for this awesome song.

I believe that somewhere in the world, there are people who feel the same emotions that I feel when I listen to masterpieces like this song.

I just lost my brother this Sunday. He was 38. He ran life at 100mph and even though it wasn’t a motorcycle this song resonated with me because of how fast he lived his life. Thank you Luke Combs.

I lost my brother in June 2010 to a car accident. He was a wild one with a heart of gold. He lived life unapologetically on his terms. This song always make me think of him. I cry every time. But it has to be one of the best songs ever.

I Lost my Brother one night after work, he just got back from his deployment (Iraq) he stopped by work to invite me out for a night of drinking and Girl chasing. He help me load sandbags into my truck and took off in his Indian Motorcycle. He said "I'll meet you there!" That was the last time I saw him alive. He hit the guardrail going 100mph. He wasn't my Blood brother but we shared Blood, sweat, and tears together in the Military. I miss that Guy every time I hear an Indian rev up. ... RIP Sargent Bonito

This is one of the best country songs right now. Concise and thorough storytelling while having an incredible melody. Luke continues to blow me away.

Song hits had not because I've lost someone on a motorcycle but the fact that I ride and I'm reckless and sometimes I think to myself I could of been that brother that dies on a bike and this song makes me take a step back to realize there are people who care about you and to not take your life for granted. So be safe out there fellow bikers

The first time I heard this song, it reminded me of my brother. The lyrics may not explain his life exactly prior to becoming clean almost 2 years before God took him home, but he did live in the world out "where the wild things are"... He had a motorcycle, smoked cigarettes, lived dangerously, and was in a well-known outlaw bike club in Boise and other Western states. He did things that were illegal a lot of times at night. We would go days and months with no contact from him. We did, however, spread his ashes in the wind under the West Coast stars in California.... 😔💔 Miss you, brother...

Just a few months ago my dad had a motorcycle crash. It was very hot and he got heatstroke and he passed out. He drifted and hit a guardrail, the police report says at 3:23 pm. The only difference from the song is my dad got incredibly lucky and there were military trained people right there and they put a band on his leg. He had to have his leg amputated but they saved his life. I just recently found this song and it hits me like a train every single time I hear those lyrics.

My oldest brother moved to America 16 years ago and died during covid, we couldn't get to his cremation and got no answers as to what he died of at 44. This song always reminds me of him.

This song hits me right in the feels. Combs is one of the few modern country stars who manages to constantly remind me why I love the genre.

I’m a wrecker driver in the Marines. One of my biggest fears is one of my friends getting hurt or killed in a bad accident and me having to recover his truck.
