Lyrics:

Goodbye to you my trusted friend
We've known each other since we were nine or ten
Together we've climbed hills and trees
Learned of love and ABCs
Skinned our hearts and skinned our knees

Goodbye my friend, it's hard to die
When all the birds are singing in the sky
Now that the spring is in the air
Pretty girls are everywhere
Think of me and I'll be there

We had joy, we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the hills that we climbed
Were just seasons out of time

My dad died 12 hours ago, my last memory is a FaceTime call. He was 91, spent the last few weeks in bed. My dad and I actually climbed the hills and trees, he was a great hiker and climber. Thank you for being my dad , you were a witness of my life. Yesterday he started his last hike and reached the stars after midnight. He reached the end of the rainbow.

i am old. I am at the end of my life now..Wow, what a ride. This song just reminds me of how much time has passed and how quickly it goes. If you are young, Im not preaching and your life is yours to live as you choose, but trust me--The days are long but the years are short.

I am 77 years old and this song has been in my head since hearing it way back 1974. Makes me think of the good times my wife of 52 years had in Wichita Falls, Texas. She passed away, sadly, in January 2022. I miss her dearly.

Lost my older Brother to cancer in March of 1974 when this song hit the charts. It was so beautifully done and so prophetic. Love this 😢song. Miss you Danny.

Dad passed 2/28/23. Looked up his YouTube playlist in his browser history, this was the last song he played (2/24). Nice to have this memory.

Terry Jacks (the guy that wrote and sang Seasons in the Sun) lives in my small home town. He doesn't have a massive mansion or a fleet of Bentleys, but he never has to work, goes on lots of vacations, has a nice waterfront home, a nice boat, and lives a pretty normal existence. The best part is that he almost never gets recognized. It is the perfect mix of fame and fortune IMO.

I'm shocked that I literally started crying when this song played. I was 9 years old in March 1974 and this was my favorite song. Still, I didn't expect such a strong reaction! Time goes by so quickly.

This song will always be for my Uncle John. He once told me it’s his favourite song and got him through losing his father. Gone but never forgotten

My wife passed from dementia on 8/3/23. We would have been married 53 years on 12/12/23. I miss her so bad and this song brings back such fond memories.

Me and my brother listened to this song in the parking lot of my dad's funeral. Everytime I hear this song I'll think of that.

I started liking my first girl friend in 1963. We got married in 1967. She died of cancer in 2017, we were married for 50yrs, 6 months. I was holding her hand when she took her last breath. Today, I am 75 and I have often wondered— when did I get old? It was so slow but yet so fast. We listened to this song back in our youth but didn’t think much of it_——- until ( listened to it today. What memories it brought back to me. Life is short, don’t “wish” for tomorrow. We don’t know what it holds. Just enjoy every day—- one day at a time.
