I wanted to do something special for the 10 year anniversary of my own experience so I asked my followers to share their story with me. This is the behind the scenes look at some of the 2,163 submissions. The final music video will have more photos!

In 2010, 10 days after our 15th bday, my twin sister and I were in a car wreck. She died and I didn't. We use "Forever fifteen" for her memoir. Thank you for this song! âş I'm so proud of you!! Thank you for being alive today!! Also, I think we live SUPER close to each other!!

The closest I've ever gotten to taking my own life was sophomore year of college. I had ran out of my dorm room in the middle of a discussion with my friends. Something in the conversation had set me off and i just ran. I ended up on the bridge above interstate 29 in Missouri, and i was debating jumping or just going down the hill and walking into traffic. I ended up not doing it, and after a stay in a hospital im properly medicated and doing much better. To anyone who sees this, I know you hear it all the time but it genuinely does get better. Please keep fighting, we need you here.

2. People call them 'imperfections' but that makes us unique and who we are
3. Even though you think no one would miss you, they would

I was almost Forever Sixteen four and a half years ago. I didnât think Iâd make it. But I did. And itâs so nice to hear this song and to realise that Iâm not the only one who has gone through shit. Holy shit. This song resonated so hard that at the line of, "when they say that it's not that bad/ you're too young to be this sad" I burst out into fucking tears.
Seeing all the faces of people who have been through this, that feel the same way, it makes me feel hopeful.
I've been dealing with suicidal thoughts and tendencies for almost five years now - and it all started when I was fifteen. Amazing how that works, huh?
