We've been to Maui many times, and have walked up and down Front Street at least one time during every visit. Have sat under the banyan tree having a snack and a drink. It's hard to comprehend the devastation from the fire. I can only hope the people of Lahaina are made whole and can once again enjoy their homes in the beautiful place.

Shaking my head in disbelief. Mahalo for doing this video. As a Brit who loves Hawaii and has visited 7 times. To see this breaks my heart. I truly hope the people that lost loved ones and homes etc are coping . It must be so hard. Aloha.

Watching this with tears in my eyes. Back in the 80ā€™s and 90ā€™s , my friends and I built many of the homes and businesses on Front St. We built Bob and Gail Longhiā€™s home, his sonā€™s home and remodeled the restaurant. Also many other art galleries, restaurants and homes there. All are completely gone ā€¦ so sad. Our hearts ache for the people of Maui. I lived there for years and they are some of the best memories I have. No matter what is rebuilt, it will never be as beautiful as the old Lahaina. Maui no ka oi!

I appreciate the delicate balance you presented, from the original beauty, through the horrible devastation, and on to hope for the future. Nicely done.

Back in the 70s I had a sailboat in Lahaina harbor and lived up in Napili. I had so many wonderful moments in Lahaina. I loved sitting under the banyan tree or grabbing breakfast on the patio at the Pioneer Inn. Cooking my own Mahi in their restaurant is another treasured memory. Walking down front street and window shopping, especially with friends from the mainland was awesome. It has been decades since I had to move back to the mainland but as I watched Lahaina burn on TV I just cried and cried. Thanks for this update, it gives me hope.

I went through the terrible LNU fire 2020 in California. The Maui fire has given me much PTSD. This video has given me much healing. I fully understand the timeline and I greatly appreciate knowing what's been done and seeing the progress. Those that have not been through this type of event expect everything to turn around in a week or a month and that's not going to happen. This process is at least a 3-year project. Everyone hang in there, we will all get through this together. Thank you very much for these video updates They are uplifting.

I will never get over the devastation. It still seems impossible. We have been visiting Maui for 20 years and itā€™s our 2nd home. We know every inch of lahaina town and loved it and the people. We were supposed to be there a week after the fire. We have planned a trip in August. I wasnā€™t sure I could go. We have friends and family to see so we will make the trip but Iā€™m dreading driving the highway and seeing everything. The mana is so strong in Hawaii. I know it will heal. ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļøā˜€ļøā˜€ļøā˜€ļøšŸŒŗšŸŒŗšŸŒŗ

Thank you so much for constantly doing your part to inform the public on whatā€™s been going onā€¦ this whole situation is so beyond devastating, there are not enough words in the English language to capture the pain the fires have caused :(

The devastation is so similar to what we experienced through the Camp Fire that nearly destroyed Paradise, CA on 8 Nov 2018. It's been 5 years and the town is recovering but many scars - emotional, physical and historic - remain. Best wishes in your recovery and having hope for the future.
