Eric Clapton has and continues to be a guitarist I have always admired. Just saw him in LA this past summer at Crossroads and he still sounds amazing!.

Used to be available as a bonus track on the "I Ain't Gonna Stand For It" CD single along with the nice "Losing Hand". Recorded during the sessions for "Reptile", an album that ranks amongst my favourites. I remember listening to this when my Dad came to my room to listen to it. He knew the film, he knew the music and like me, loved it. So many subtle licks, so much feeling.

I just last night discovered the Spotnicks, an instrumental Swedish rock band who did this song in 1961: just before Eric joined the Yardbirds. So today I see he did his own "Johnny Guitar"—I said no way it's that same song... Great to hear Clapton so many years later, groovin' out his own version and makin' it tight as hell! Groove on, sir.🎶
