jpsaxe.com/spotify I donāt like your choices of art on the walls
but I donāt say it
it just feels unromantic
to buy a painting at 3am
on the internet
like āwhatās the story with this?ā
āwell I was anxious and I couldnāt sleep so I bought some shitā
I tried to put a sculpture in the yard once,
a family memory Iād inherited.
you said you hated it
āCan you put it at your studio and save me the embarrassment?ā
I still park on the street
when thereās room in the driveway
and leave my shoes at the door
leave my doubts in my head
and I desperately downplay
how I donāt feel like me anymore
havenāt given up
on making this my own,
but itās always felt like
someone elseās home
like someone elseās home
havenāt given upon making this my own
but itās always felt like
someone elseās home
like someone elseās home
you want me looking at swatches
and picking out tiles
I wanna go live in Peru for a while
You wanna buy houses
and diversify your portfolio
I wanna get high on a jet ski in Tokyo
donāt you think we may
have grown up too fast
missed out on acting our age
maybe weāre grown-ups
to middle america
but weāre still kids in LA
havenāt given up
on making this my own,
but itās always felt like
someone elseās home
like someone elseās home
havenāt given up
on making this my own
but itās always felt like
someone elseās home
like someone elseās home
I still park on the street
when thereās room in the driveway
and leave my shoes at the door
leave my doubts in my head
and I desperately downplay
how I donāt feel like me anymore

This song is almost like the older and more jaded version of Hold On To Meā¦while that song embraces the differences between two people integrating themselves into each otherās lives (while still acknowledging the fear of losing oneās own identity), this one is almost resentful of the loss of individuality. This album is just incredible.
