One of the many things I admire about you, John, is how observant you are. With that many people in the yard, you were still aware of the little boy standing alone, admiring the (very handsome!) Chitsman. And then you watched to be sure he was rejoining a group of adults. On their behalf, thank you.

Not one parent quickly put their child behind them. Astonishing. Also, no apparent understanding that a horse can kick, little awareness, no anticipation. It’s as if they feel physically unconnected to what they’re seeing, as if watching tv or their phone screens. Great video, John. Human behaviour is fascinating.

As others have already said hats off to the MOD officer putting himself between Talisker and the idiots in the corner who didn't have the sense to move out of the way of a horse coming towards them backwards fast !!! Give the man a stiff drink 🤗. Public safety is part of their role at Horse Guards , he went above and beyond the call of duty ! The way Talisker kept looking towards the open box doors it was inevitable , the Trooper did everything possible to reassure him , lots of rubs , and keeping him back in the box he almost made it , well done both 😘😘. The last fluffy cloppy boy in the first group of Blues with COH was gorgeous Kensington with his moustache , second group was equally fluffy and cloppy Indiana , along with Monty , ( plus Radford from Lifeguards ) my favourite boys 😍. The little boy totally enthralled by the chitsman was adorable , but as we've already had lost children there this week and his parents were on the opposite side of the courtyard , rather worrying ! Gnome convention , I'd. be avoiding that 😁. Thanks John see you in part 2 xxx o

As a mother and grandmother I just don’t understand that little dude can run around be far from his parents. In this day and age child trafficking and kidnapping I wouldn’t let my children more than a few feet away from me. I probably will appear like an old fuddy duddy but as you say John it is what it is.

I’ve been around horses all of my life but no way would I march up to a horse that doesn’t know me and start pawing at it’s face when I know nothing about it’s temperament or it’s tolerance levels. Horses, like people, are individuals - some like the attention others definitely don’t. I’m really surprised that more tourists don’t get bitten.
The trooper was slowly trying to coax an obviously nervous and reluctant horse further out of the box but he was being hindered by people confusing Horse Guards for a petting zoo. It must be so frustrating for the guards and not helpful for the horse.
A pity a police officer had to put himself in danger cos some tourists are just too gormless to get out of the way when a huge horse obviously wasn’t too happy.
