WEAK FOOT EXERCISE Description:
I have been playing drums since I was 10 years old, but only a few years ago got into double bass. It is something that you really have to practice frequently to improve on, as it depends on your muscle build and memory of your legs and ankles.
When I started double bass drumming, I found that my right leg was super confident, strong, and fast, while my left leg was sloppy, slow, and weak (I am right handed/footed).
Therefore I investigated possible methods of strengthening my weak leg/foot. I found that the best way to build up the weak leg is to keep it beating constantly, to bring that slight burn and build the muscle memory the fastest. I developed this simple groove that keeps the weak foot pressin' on while incorporating the strong foot for assurance of accuracy.
The pattern (if you can't tell) is:
1e&a2e&a3e&a4e&a
RL L L L L L L L (x2)
RLRL L L L L L L (x2)
RLRLRL L L L L L (x2)
RLRLRLRL L L L L (x2)
RLRLRLRLRL L L L (x2)
RLRLRLRLRLRL L L (x2)
RLRLRLRLRLRLRL L (x2)
RLRLRLRLRLRLRLRL (x2)
while keeping eighth notes on the right hand on either hihat or ride, and left hand on 2 and 4 on snare.

@scarabaeus Start slow and gradually get faster and faster every couple bars. Go to the speed at which youre comfortable and the double bass is smooth, but at the point where you might fall over the edge. Keep that tempo going and hold it for a minute-ish. Keep doing this and you'll notice your "fall off" point will get to be a faster and faster tempo.

I have more the problem that I cant keep both feets at a constant rhythm.. alone I can play the left foot almost as good as the right already, but I can only like play fast with right and then put in some left foot to give it some rhythm kinda, but I can't keep both feet in a constant rhythm like always Left-Right-L-R-L-R, after some time my left foot starts to hit at the same time as my right, which erases teh sense of a DB-Pedal imo :P any tips?
