WHAT IS KALADAN MULTIMODAL TRANSIT TRANSPORT PROJECT? | कलादान प्रोजेक्ट क्या है ?

The Kaladan Multimodal Transit Transport Project (KMTTP) is an ambitious India–Myanmar infrastructure initiative aimed at improving connectivity between eastern India and its northeastern states. It involves a triple‐mode transit corridor:

कलादान मल्टी-मोडल ट्रांज़िट ट्रांसपोर्ट प्रोजेक्ट (KMTTP) भारत–म्यांमार के बीच एक महत्वाकांक्षी कनेक्टिविटी प्रोजेक्ट है, जो पूर्वी भारत को उसके पूर्वोत्तर राज्यों से जोड़ने की दिशा में कार्य कर रहा है।

समुद्री मार्ग: कोलकाता से म्यांमार के सित्टवे पोर्ट तक (~539 किमी)

नदी मार्ग: सित्टवे से पलटवा तक कलादान नदी के माध्यम से (~158 किमी); बंदरगाह और नौका सेवा साल 2017 से चालू

सड़क मार्ग: पलटवा से ज़ोरिनपुई बॉर्डर (~108–110 किमी), फिर अज़ॉले → सुधारित राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग के जरिए

इससे “चिकन नेक” यानी सिलिगुड़ी गलियारे की भीड़ और जोखिम से बचाव होता है, तथा कोलकाता से मिज़ोरम के बीच ~700–1328 किमी की दूरी कम होती है ।
