I have been practicing Yoga for 3 years consistently and still cannot hold the crow pose or the wheel or the handstand or the splits, etc. I don't beat myself up over it. I control and improve on what I can do.

I can do dozens of advance yoga poses. But I still remember your words when you said do not stop even when you feel like you aren't progressing because it's more important how you feel than how it looks.

This advice isn't only about getting to a pose in yoga, but it is something one should do to reach any end goal. PRACTICING CONSISTENTLY is the key. Thank you, Charlie. You motivate me. ❤

Charlie, you are such an inspiration, I just started with yoga, and I think it's one of the most enjoyable things for me to do when I follow your videos. Because I don't feel any pressure, I just feel peace and a very comfortable place to just enjoy moving my body and breathing. Thanks for this ❤

I would add it’s okay to progress differently for different poses! I’ve been practicing yoga on and off for almost 20 years (with some years of consistency and others with looooong breaks) and there are plenty of poses where I am on level one or two. For instance, I don’t have a robust crow or handstand practice, in part because of my anatomy and in part because it’s not a particular goal where I push myself. Just listen to your body and enjoy the journey 🙏

I have been practicing with you since the beginning of the year fairly consistently and have seen a lot of progress, not just in being able to do a pose that I couldn’t before but also in feeling more confident to try. Thank you

Something I read, which is an anchor throughout my yoga journey. "Show up on your mat & the rest is circus"
Pretty much what Charlie is saying.

Anchoring yoga in my life, just like brushing my teeth, sleeping, etc... has done wonders
Perfecting the asana through consistency, helped a lot.
In other words, the poses that need improvement are always in my practice, as an add on to my class.

'the light in me acknowledges the light in you'

Most people are very goal oriented and are missing the point of yoga which is what you acquire on the journey. I’ve found when I quit worrying about the “goal” and just practice regularly, all the “goals” just happen naturally.
There can never be an answer to that question anyway because everyone comes from a different starting place and has different bodies. Just enjoy the ride and let the lotus open in its own time ❤

Thank you for giving people realistic expectations and not just trying to sell them BS. Every exercise program is how many days or weeks until you’re going to look amazing. And it’s really not like that. It’s a journey and it takes time of consistent effort.

Hi Charlie,
Loving your muscle definitions. Is yoga the only reason for that ? Or you do strength training also

Practice (abhyasa, 1.13) and non-attachment (vairagya, 1.15) are the two core principles on which the entire system of Yoga rests.
