Great idea! Don't get to much paint on the blade or paint will still get on carpet. Remember if you have carpet that is higher than the bottom of baseboards when you pull the mudding blade back the carpet will bounce up into the the wet paint. I tape down the carpet but im messy and not exactly painting professionally.
