I'm finally running my Stihl MS 261 CM with an 04 light bar vs my Husqvarna 550 xp Mark 2. This isn't the first chainsaw showdown I've done between these two saws on the channel. (Actually, I've got at least a dozen videos on these two chainsaws!) Check out round 1 and round 2 in the links below. After the first two rounds, I received many comments saying that I should run them against each other again with an 04 light bar on the Stihl. I wasn't able to get my hands on a light bar until now, so here we are doing the third round of 261 vs 550.

I really like both of these chainsaws. You may have seen my reviews on them (linked below). Actually, I love the 261 and the 550xp so much, that I couldn't decide between them! That's why I have both. I had no preconceived notions or agenda in running these saws against each other. I coughed up my own cash for both of these chainsaws.

They both have the same horsepower, but the 550 has more torque & is the most powerful 50cc saw you can buy. 👍

I own 2 261cm and 2 550xp saws all 4 have 20" bars i can verify this video is accurate.
The 550xp have the best chain speed period they flat cut ..
And they dont have stupid caps like the stihl and vibrate less and have larger tanks to run longer . Also Husqvarna has longer factory warranty.

I've had my Husqvarna 55R Rancher for over 30 years now. I've changed the plug in it several times, one new 20 in. Bar and at least 75 new chains. It has been a great saw for me. My brother is Stihl all the way though.

Stihl way over rated! My 550 mark ll with a 16 inch bar and a .325 chain in a 12 inch log will go thru it faster than my 592 with a 28 inch bar and a 3/8 full chisel chain! So what does that tell you Stihl boys.

Not all trees are the same hardness or softness. I prefer Stihl but Huskvarna is'nt bad either.

I have both and prefer the husky 550 xp mii over my 261 cm. My test mirrored yours almost exactly.
