It's incredible how effective a hot fence can be. I'm generally not a fan of using fear as a motivator.. but this is, like, the single case where fear is genuinely an effective and humane motivator. They zap themselves a few times in their youth and after that a hot fence is super effective. A reliable fence is so important for the safety of the animals, so it truly is worth it. I had one dog that would jump the fence no matter how high, the moment he was off leash he would book for it. We made the fence hot, he zapped himself and never tried it again. Now he can explore all 14 acres free range, no concern that he'll run off and get hit by a car. His quality of life is so much better.

So much better she learn about the fencing on her own. It won’t degrade the trust she has in you & further help you with further training. My 1st foal was teased to the fence by a “friend”, that did not make me or the mare happy. ❤ how quickly they get their legs under them, such a fun time! Hope you have many years of joy with both!!

They are beautiful. I think the sneeze, sounded more like a snort of derision. Of course, she's happy to be out. Like the fairies who gave Sleeping Beauty gifts, I wish for this little horse and his mama, health, safety, love,and long, secure lives. I wish the same for those who care for him.
