Its gotten out of control since the pandemic. Everything has opened up and its not necessary. I get asked to tip at a drive though! I only tip when im in a sit down and serve restaurant or if im getting delivery. And it has to be from the restaurant, never order door dash. They already charge extra on top of the food price.

Hell, there's a robot that serves drinks. Some place in las vegas that ask for a tip too. It even asked up to twenty five percent for the tip.

When you pick up takeout, the kitchen staff still had to cook your food. You not sitting down doesn't make it any easier for kitchen staff, in fact not limiting the number of orders with table availability makes it harder.

There was a tip option at a store I went to. They were doing literally nothing to help. They wanted me to pay them a gratuity for taking my money.
