Let me explain it better? Multiplication is just speed adding. So 4x4 is just 4 added 4 times shown as 4+4+4+4. Its like saying there are 4 groups of 4, so add them up. Now if you have a negative number you are basicly adding negative numbere, or subracting positive numbers.
2x(-3) is shown as (-3)+(-3) or -2-2-2, both equal -6.
Meanwhile two negatives is basicly subtracting a negative. If -2x-2 thats -(-2)-(-2) well you can seethat this goes backwards. Its the same as 2+2. If 0+2+2=4 than 0-(-2)-(-2)=4 too.thats why the negative debt method works, because when you get your taxes back which is a debt you owe your country, and because your fresh into adulthood and have deductions you see you have a -1500 debt, this is money the government owes you. Its a double negative so its a positive.
